- Education:

Carol’s research integrates abstract art, textile processes, and environmental reflection, using slow, tactile methods to contrast modern tech-driven temporality. Her Shape of the Universe series (2019–2020) and Viral Theories installations (2023–2024) exemplify this, blending themes of the sublime with ecological and biological fragility.
Scientific awards include
- Fulbright Distinguished Scholar (2024)

- Sustainable Arts Fellowship (2014)
- Nathan Oliveira Faculty Fellowship (2001)
Carol has received numerous grants and residency invitations, including at La Porte Peinte (France), Greywood Arts (Ireland), and I-Park (CT). Her work is held in corporate collections such as San Francisco International Airport, Nokia, and Adobe Systems, reflecting her international impact.
