Dr. Carmen Lim is an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow and Affiliate at the National Centre for Youth Substance Use Research within the University of Queensland's School of Psychology. Her research examines youth substance use etiology, vaping trends, social media surveillance, and health disparities in low/middle-income countries. With over 100 peer-reviewed publications in addiction and mental health (h-index: 37), she integrates biostatistics, epidemiology, and public health methodologies.
Research Focus: Her work centers on three interconnected domains:
- Youth substance initiation patterns and vaping behaviors
- Social media data mining for public health surveillance
- Global substance use disparities and preventative interventions
Publication Trends: Recent articles demonstrate strong emphasis on evolving nicotine delivery systems (e-cigarettes, Delta-8-THC), social media influences on youth behaviors, and policy analysis.
