Associate Professor Gary Chung Kai Chan is an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow at the National Centre for Youth Substance Use Research, The University of Queensland. His primary research focuses on substance misuse prevention, addiction epidemiology (including vaping, cannabis, and gaming disorders), and advanced statistical methods for longitudinal analysis and causal inference. He has secured over $13 million in research funding and authored more than 200 publications.
His research interests span substance use prevention, statistical methodology, behavioral addiction, and public health policy. Key areas include:
