Carly Maynard is a Lecturer at Scotland's Rural College (SRUC), specializing in rural economy, environment, and society. Her work integrates social and environmental aspects of climate, water, and energy systems. She focuses on public engagement with water environments, community resilience to environmental change, and knowledge co-production.
Educated at Durham University (PhD 2013, MSc 2009) and the University of Leeds (MSc 2005), her research spans transdisciplinary water management, peatland restoration, and land reform policy. Key projects include:
- Coastal Adaptation Fund: Fife coastline health and wellbeing (2024-2025)
- Vulnerability of remote coastal communities to water challenges (2022-2024)
