Dr. Carla Roos is an Assistant Professor at Tilburg University's Tilburg School of Humanities and Digital Sciences, within the Department of Communication and Cognition. Her research focuses on mediated communication, social dynamics, and online interaction, with a particular emphasis on diplomatic behavior, polarization mitigation, and emotional tone interpretation in digital spaces.
Key research interests include analyzing how communication mediums influence social interactions, reducing perceived polarization through subjective phrasing, and understanding the nuances of online disagreement management. She has contributed to foundational work on the Social Dynamics Approach to mediated communication, challenging assumptions about online misunderstandings and advocating for constructive dialogue mechanisms.
