Carla Cesare is a design historian whose work explores the interwar period, focusing on design and identity through everyday practices. She holds a doctorate in the History of Art, Design and Visual Culture from Northumbria University and an MA in the History of Design from Parsons School of Design.

Her research examines boundaries between space, body, and material in domestic contexts, particularly relating to femininity. Current projects analyze networks of women in design during the 1920s–30s, pedagogical approaches for studio-based students, and the evolution of coffee shops as interior urban spaces.
