Carl Petersen

Carl Petersen is a Full Professor and Head of the Laboratory of Sensory Processing at the Brain Mind Institute, Faculty of Life Sciences, EPFL, Switzerland. His research focuses on understanding neural circuits underlying sensory perception and associative learning. He has held various academic positions since 1999, including Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at EPFL, and postdoctoral roles at Max-Planck-Institute for Medical Research and University of California, San Francisco.

Carl Petersen’s work investigates the functional operation of neural circuits in awake mice during quantified behavior, aiming to establish causal and mechanistic understanding of sensory processing, sensorimotor integration, and learning at the neuronal level.
