Cara Benedetto

Cara Benedetto is an Associate Professor in the Department of Painting + Printmaking at Virginia Commonwealth University's School of the Arts. Her practice spans art, writing, and education, with exhibitions at institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art Warsaw, MOCA Cleveland, and Metro Pictures. She has contributed written work to Badlands, C Magazine, Sleek Magazine, and others.

• Education: MFA from Columbia University; studies at Tamarind Institute of Lithography

Her research explores experimental art forms, printmaking pedagogy, and interdisciplinary creative practices. She authored the experimental novel The Coming of Age (2015) during her 2013–2015 fellowship at Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart. She is also editor of the printmaking textbook Contemporary Print Handbook (2016).
