Camille Hoffman

Camille Hoffman is an Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Art at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. Her work critically engages with themes of Manifest Destiny, cultural identity, and socio-political histories through mixed-media installations. She holds an MFA from Yale University (2015) and a BFA from the California College of the Arts (2009).

Her research focuses on reimagining 19th-century American landscape paintings through fragmented materials like holiday tablecloths, medical records, and plastic waste. She explores transcultural contradictions by blending Philippine weaving traditions, Jewish folk heritage, and historical critique. Recent works critique globalization and environmental degradation, using layered, chromatically complex compositions.

Her practice bridges personal narrative and collective memory, challenging dominant narratives through material reinvention.
