Dr. Cami Agan is a Distinguished Professor of Language & Literature at Orange Coast College (OCC), where she teaches British Literature, Film Studies, Composition, and Honors Humanities. She specializes in Medieval Studies, 18th-century British Literature, and Utopian Studies, with a particular focus on Shakespeare, Chaucer, and Jane Austen. Dr. Agan is the sponsor of OCC’s Sigma Tau Delta chapter, the English Honors Society, and actively engages in scholarly work, including recent publications on 18th-century playwright Frances Sheridan and J.R.R. Tolkien. She holds a Ph.D. and is a member of professional organizations such as the Modern Language Association (MLA) and the Medieval Academy of America.
Her research interests blend historical literary analysis with contemporary cultural discourse. Dr. Agan emphasizes collaborative learning and values the department’s community spirit, fostering strong relationships between students and faculty. Outside academia, she enjoys mid-century architecture, art history, cooking, and reading modern authors like Louise Erdrich and Margaret Atwood.
