Cameron Baker is a Researcher in the Department of Chemistry, supervised by Professor Steve Liddle. His research focuses on using NMR spectroscopy and DFT calculations to study covalency in f-block element-ligand bonds, particularly Uranium. He holds a Master of Chemistry from Newcastle University (2018–2022).
Research Interests:
- NMR spectroscopy for chemical shift analysis
- DFT-based computational studies
- Bonding mechanisms in actinide and lanthanide complexes
His 2024 article in Chemical Science investigates Ce IV double bonding via NMR and DFT, demonstrating interdisciplinary approaches to inorganic chemistry. The work has been widely shared on academic platforms like Mendeley.
Advising: Currently supervised by Prof. Liddle and co-supervised by Dr. Ralph Adams and Dr. Daniel Lee. No independent advisees listed.
Labs/Teams: Member of the Liddle Group, contributing to advanced materials characterization research.
