Callie Callon is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Classics and Archaeology at Queen's University at Kingston, within the Faculty of Arts and Science. Her research focuses on Greek and Roman cultural history, early Christianity, and ancient conceptions of the body, with a particular emphasis on classical rhetoric and biblical interpretation. She has contributed significantly to understanding ancient physiognomy, early Christian texts, and the socio-cultural contexts of biblical narratives.
Her work spans a range of topics including ancient hairstyles, analysis of Philostratus' omissions in biographical accounts, and the symbolic roles of imperial statues in early Christian literature. Notable publications include studies on the Parable of the Prodigal Son’s economic and social dimensions, the transformation of pastoral discourse in biblical texts, and the portrayal of Pilate in Matthew’s Gospel.
