Cailin Manson is a Professor of Practice and Director of Music in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Clark University. He leads the Music Performance concentration, oversees music ensembles like the Clark University Concert Choir, and teaches performance-related curricula. Manson holds a Mag. Art in Opera and Orchestral Conducting from the Universität Mozarteum (2002).
His career spans over 20 years as an international baritone, conductor, and educator. Notable roles include Music Director of BARN OPERA and the Keene Chorale, and Artistic Director of the New England Repertory Orchestra. Manson is recognized for blending dramatic artistry with technical precision, praised for his 'ringing projection' and 'commanding tone.'
Research interests focus on revitalizing classical music through community engagement, pedagogical innovation, and interdisciplinary performance. He advocates for equity in arts access and has led initiatives like DEI in Classical Music Symposiums. Manson has performed globally with institutions such as the Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart and Teatro La Fenice.
Recipient of the 2022 Creative Community Fellows award from National Arts Strategies, Manson also serves on boards like Wagner in Vermont Festival and is affiliated with the League of American Orchestras. His creative works include operatic productions (e.g., Turandot), choral projects (Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang), and recordings like Aylward’s Oblivion.
