CHAN Soon Huat

CHAN Soon Huat is a Senior Lecturer of Finance at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University (SMU). He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Rhode Island (1999), an MBA in Finance from City University Business School, London (1989), and a Bachelor of Science (Honors) from the University of Malaya (1984). His research focuses on Market Microstructure, Investments and Equity Analysis, Empirical Asset Pricing, and Behavioral Finance. He has served as Co-Director (2013–2015) and Academic Director (2015–present) of the Master of Science in Applied Finance (full-time program) at SMU. His notable work includes a 2005 study on price limit performance published in the Journal of Empirical Finance. Dr. Chan’s academic contributions emphasize practical finance education and applied research in capital markets.
