Joe ZHANG

Joe ZHANG is an Associate Professor of Finance and PGR Coordinator at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB), Singapore Management University (SMU). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa (2004), an M.Sc. from National University of Singapore (1999), and a B.E. from Tsinghua University (1997). His research focuses on Empirical Asset Pricing, Market Efficiency, Mutual Funds, and Institutional Investment, with notable contributions to topics like leverage effects, fund performance, and volatility modeling.

Key awards include the Lee Foundation Research Fellowship (SMU, 2005–2006) and the University of Iowa Ponder Fellowship (2001–2003). His work spans high-impact journals such as Management Science, Review of Financial Studies, and Journal of Finance. As a research advisor, he has guided PhD student SANG Bo in Finance.
