Professor Bryony Whitmarsh is an Associate Dean International at the University of Southampton. Her research focuses on cultural heritage, political memory, and South Asian studies with particular attention to Nepal's historical transitions. She has published extensively on topics such as memory politics, monumental architecture, and post-conflict societies.
Her academic career includes supervising PhD students like Qi Mei in the field of archaeology. Whitmarsh's recent publications analyze the Narayanhiti Palace Museum and republic memorialization in Kathmandu, demonstrating expertise in museum studies and spatial politics.
