Tip Ragan is a professor in the History department at Colorado College, specializing in early modern European history and the history of sexuality and gender. He teaches courses on the Renaissance, Reformation, French Revolution, witchcraft, and Enlightenment culture.
- Current Professorship: William R. Hochman Professorship in History
- Former Professorship: Lloyd Edson Worner Distinguished Service Professorship (2014–2017)
Research Focus: Professor Ragan’s work centers on the decriminalization of sodomy, policing of homosexuality in 18th-century Paris, and cultural/political dynamics of the French Revolution. He has co-edited four books and a journal special volume.
