Bryan Coad

Associate Professor Bryan Coad leads a multidisciplinary research group at the University of Adelaide's School of Agriculture, Food and Wine, focusing on bioactive materials and food waste reduction. He serves as Research Director for the End Food Waste Cooperative Research Centre, managing $66M in industry-government funding to halve Australia's food waste by 2030. His work spans biomaterials, plasma technologies, and antifungal coatings with over 40 publications and 10 grants. He has trained 35+ scientists and contributed to medical, environmental, and agricultural advancements. Current research includes plasma-activated water applications, bioplastic development, and fungal pathogen control via surface engineering.
