Dr. Behdad Soltani is a Research Fellow at the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, University of Sydney. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering (2020) and an M.Eng from the University of Birmingham. His research focuses on plasma treatments, process modeling, and advancing the circular economy through collaborations with industry partners. Key areas include food preservation technologies, biogas upcycling, and antimicrobial efficacy studies. He has developed numerical models integrated with user-friendly interfaces to enhance industrial efficiency.
Education: PhD Chemical Engineering (University of Sydney, 2020), M.Eng Chemical Engineering (University of Birmingham, UK).
Research interests span plasma technology applications in food and agriculture, sustainable process design, and closing skill gaps in numerical modeling. His work aims to boost Australia’s agricultural technology sector, projected at $100B by 2030.
