Bruno Palier is a Research Professor at Sciences Po, affiliated with the Centre détudes européennes (Center for European Studies) as a Director of Research for the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). His career spans decades of influential work on social protection systems across France and Europe, with significant leadership roles in major research initiatives.
Palier's research centers on welfare state transformations, focusing on pension reforms, health systems modernization, and the strategic shift toward social investment frameworks. His scholarship critically examines how European nations adapt social policies to demographic pressures, economic globalization, and political constraints, with particular attention to gender equity and intergenerational justice.
