Bruno Nicenboim is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence at Tilburg University, Netherlands. He is the Principal Investigator of the Computational Psycholinguistics Lab. Previously, he completed his PhD and Postdoc in Shravan Vasishth’s lab at the Department of Linguistics, University of Potsdam, Germany.
His research focuses on computational cognitive modeling of psycholinguistic phenomena, Bayesian statistics, and EEG in psycholinguistics. He develops computational models to study sentence processing, retrieval mechanisms, and probabilistic language comprehension. His work also involves EEG data analysis, as seen in his R package eeguana designed for flexible EEG data manipulation.
Key research interests include Bayesian hierarchical modeling, model parsimony debates, and statistical methods in cognitive science. He has organized workshops on cognitive modeling and serves as a local chair for conferences like the Society for Mathematical Psychology.
Recent publications explore cognitive function prediction post-surgery, Bayesian model comparisons, and the effects of data aggregation in statistical inference. His research bridges theoretical models with empirical EEG studies, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches.
