Dr. Brooke Solz serves as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Teacher Education at Florida State University and holds the role of Assistant in Research at the Florida Center for Reading Research (FCRR). Her work bridges research and practice in education, focusing on rural education, effective school leadership, and reading instruction. She collaborates with the Florida Department of Education and initiatives like The Village to advance educational outcomes.
Dr. Solz’s career spans PreK-12 education, including roles as an elementary teacher, literacy coach, district reading specialist, and school administrator. Prior to FCRR, she worked as a School Improvement Specialist with the Florida Department of Education’s Bureau of School Improvement.
Her research emphasizes practical strategies for improving reading skills in all students, particularly in under-resourced settings. She actively contributes to teacher preparation programs and school leadership development initiatives.
