Brooke Orr is a faculty member in the Department of History at Westfield State University, where she has taught since 2003. Her academic focus spans various aspects of U.S. history, emphasizing social and political movements.

Research Interests include 19th Century U.S. History, American Civil War and Reconstruction, U.S. Women’s History, U.S. Race Relations and Civil Rights Activism, U.S. Social and Political Movements, U.S. Sports History, American Revolution, Antebellum American Cultural History, and U.S. Immigration Policy. Her work often intersects gender, race, and political economy in the Gilded Age and Progressive Era.
Selected Publications highlight her expertise in populist movements, political discourse, and cultural history. Her article on Mary Elizabeth Lease (2007) earned the Edgar Langsdorf Award for Excellence in Writing.
