Bronwyn MacFarlane

Dr. Bronwyn MacFarlane is an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership in the Department of Educational Leadership, College of Education & Behavioral Science at Arkansas State University. Her research and teaching center on gifted education, STEM curriculum development, world languages education, and social-emotional learning for advanced learners.

Research Focus: MacFarlane’s scholarship spans the design and implementation of specialized school programs for high-ability learners, integration of STEM and second-language study, and the cultivation of social-emotional competencies in gifted children. She explores curriculum differentiation, teacher professional development, and policy frameworks that support equitable access to advanced educational opportunities.

Publications: Her recent work (2021-2023) emphasizes practical and theoretical advancements in teaching world languages to advanced learners, embedding social-emotional learning in early childhood gifted programs, and constructing comprehensive STEM infrastructures for high-ability students.
