Dr. Jenny Yang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Administrative and Instructional Leadership at the School of Education, St. John’s University. She specializes in gifted education, STEM enrichment programs, and equity-focused pedagogical strategies for linguistically diverse learners. Her work emphasizes scaffolding and differentiation for culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
Dr. Yang leads Project WINGS, a federally funded initiative collaborating with high-need schools to develop accelerated math programs for high-ability English Learners across New York, Texas, and California. This project addresses curriculum design, teacher practices, and systemic equity challenges in gifted education.
Her research interests include identification of giftedness in underrepresented groups, STEM curricular innovation, and effective teaching practices for multilingual learners. She teaches courses like School-Based Data Analysis, Doctoral Research Seminars, and Advanced Educational Research Methods.
Dr. Yang’s publications focus on teacher beliefs, instructional strategies for ELLs, and curriculum impacts on mathematical proficiency. She actively engages in grant-funded research to bridge educational gaps for linguistically diverse gifted students.
