Bronwen Manby

Dr. Bronwen Manby is a Lecturer in International Human Rights Law at the School of Advanced Study, University of London, and a senior visiting fellow at the Firoz Lalji Institute for Africa, London School of Economics. She specializes in nationality law, statelessness, and legal identity in Africa, with expertise in post-colonial history and international law.

Her research focuses on the right to a nationality, citizenship issues in Africa, and governance of digital identity systems. She contributes to global initiatives like the UNDP model governance framework for legal identity and collaborates with organizations such as the Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion and GLOBALCIT.

Recent articles address statelessness resolution, digital public infrastructure challenges, and citizenship dynamics in post-independence Africa. She actively engages in doctoral supervision and consultancy, with notable media appearances and advocacy work.
