Brittany Titus serves as an Adjunct Professor of English at Palo Alto College, a position she assumed in January 2023. Prior to this role, she taught high school English in the Comal Independent School District in San Marcos, Texas, where she mentored middle and high school students for several years.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Bethany Lutheran College in 2015. During her studies, she engaged deeply with the English Department faculty—Dr. Lars, Angie Johnson, and Dr. Hanna—who strengthened her literary analysis skills through classroom discussions and text studies. She also participated in campus choir, theatrical productions, and chapel services, forming foundational experiences within the college's Lutheran faith-based community.
Her teaching philosophy centers on demonstrating the real-world relevance of reading and writing beyond academic requirements, with particular emphasis on student breakthrough "Aha!" moments that build confidence. She prioritizes mentorship for students facing personal challenges or difficult home environments, aiming to instill self-belief through the message that hard work enables achievement of any goal.
In student guidance, she emphasizes campus engagement through clubs, athletics, music, or service activities to foster friendships and create meaningful experiences, while advocating for balanced integration of academic work and personal time. Her approach reflects Bethany Lutheran College's community-oriented educational model that initially shaped her professional identity.
