Brittany Seymour is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs at Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM), where she holds a full-time appointment in the Department of Oral Health Policy and Epidemiology and the Office of Global and Community Health. She earned her DDS from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine (2005) and a Master of Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health (2011), focusing on Global Health and Population.
Her research centers on interdisciplinary global oral health initiatives, including education, workforce development, prevention, and policy. She has collaborated with institutions such as the Harvard Global Health Institute, the Harvard Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society, and the Harvard Medical School Academy. Key projects include launching Rwanda’s first dental school, supporting Vietnam’s dental education reform, and developing a hospital dental care wing in Haiti.
Notable honors include the Award for Community Dentistry and Dental Public Health, the Herschel S. Horowitz Scholarship, and mentorship and teaching accolades from HSDM and Harvard Medical School. She serves as a national consumer spokesperson for the American Dental Association and contributed to the FDI World Dental Federation’s Oral Health Atlas (2nd Edition).
