Brittany Chase is a Lecturer of Musicology and Ethnomusicology and Assistant Dean for Non-Degree Programs at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music. She holds a B.A. in American Studies (with a minor in Corporate Strategy) from Vanderbilt University and an M.M. in Ethnomusicology from the University of Florida, focusing on American popular music and contemporary Christian music. Her professional roles include teaching at Middle Tennessee State University and serving as an adjunct instructor at Belmont University. She has presented research at the Southeast and Caribbean Chapter of the Society for Ethnomusicology conferences (2011, 2013).
Her research interests bridge ethnomusicology and cultural studies, emphasizing contemporary musical practices in American contexts. She has a strong background in music education and administrative leadership, particularly in non-degree program coordination. Previously, she was a four-year member of Vanderbilt's Spirit of Gold Marching Band and its service organization, Tau Beta Sigma.
