Robert Webb Fry is the Principal Senior Lecturer of Musicology and Ethnomusicology at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music. His research focuses on music tourism, fan culture, and the interplay between music and place. He has presented lectures and papers internationally on topics such as country music nostalgia, blues, and virtual tourism in 'Second Life.'
Education: B.M.Ed. from Henderson State University, M.M. from The Ohio State University, and Ph.D. from Florida State University.
Teaching includes courses like The Blues, Global Music, Jazz, and Music of the South at Blair School since 2007. Previously taught at Hot Springs High School, Ohio University (including its London program), and Florida State University.
Affiliations include the American Musicological Society, Society for American Music, Society of Ethnomusicology, and International Association for the Study of Popular Music.
