Brittany Bara serves as Assistant Professor of Theatre and Musical Theatre in the Conservatory for Performing Arts at Viterbo University. A Designated Linklater Teacher, she co-chairs the EduCore Committee for the Voice and Speech Trainers Association (VASTA) and maintains an active professional practice as a voice/text coach, dialect designer, and intimacy director across the U.S., Canada, and Western Europe. Her work centers on cultivating empathy through radical kindness and collaborative storytelling.

Professor Bara's research integrates mind-body-voice techniques to develop performers' emotional expression capabilities. Her expertise spans Linklater voice methodology, dialect acquisition systems, and contemporary intimacy choreography frameworks, emphasizing psychological safety and emotional authenticity in rehearsal processes. She investigates how theatrical training cultivates transferable empathy skills applicable beyond performance contexts.
At Viterbo, she has directed acclaimed productions including Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Tar Beach, The Hello Girls, and Amahl and the Night Visitors. Her pedagogical approach focuses on creating exploratory rehearsal environments where students develop technical mastery through collaborative play and embodied inquiry, preparing performers for both stage and life.
