Brigitte Kroon is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Human Resource Studies at Tilburg University's Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Her research focuses on human resource management (HRM) in non-standard organizational contexts, including SMEs, migrant labor, and flexible work arrangements. She emphasizes fair work practices and their dual impact on organizational effectiveness and employee well-being. Kroon collaborates with international organizations and has contributed to policy advisory roles, such as the European Labor Authority's Workgroup on Labor Mobility and the Dutch Pension Sector's Diversity Task Force.
Her career spans academic and professional HR roles, including 10 years in HR consulting prior to joining Tilburg in 2003. Kroon has received the Michael Poole Award (2021) for best paper in the International Journal of Human Resource Management. She teaches evidence-based HRM, integrating practical and theoretical insights, and has developed modular curricula for bachelor and executive programs. Key projects include studying Central and Eastern European migrant workers' experiences during the pandemic and diversity in family business leadership.
