Bridget Terry Long serves as the Saris Professor of Education and Economics at Harvard Graduate School of Education and holds the prestigious title of Harvard University Distinguished Service Professor. A faculty member since 2000, she served as Dean of HGSE from 2018 to 2024, leading major initiatives including the master's program redesign, pandemic-era remote education transition, and launch of HGSE's first online master's degree.

Long's research focuses on critical educational pathways, particularly the transition from high school to higher education. Her work bridges economic theory with practical policy solutions to address systemic inequities in educational access and attainment.
As a leading policy influencer, Long has testified before U.S. Senate Committees and state governmental bodies. She chairs MDRC's Board of Directors, serves on the Red Sox Foundation Board, and was founding Board Member of Axim Collaborative. Her leadership extends to national advisory roles including Chair of the National Board for Education Sciences during the Obama administration.
