Brianne Little

Brianne Little serves as Assistant Professor of Flute in the Music Arts department at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. An internationally acclaimed performer, she has played across four continents including venues such as Carnegie Hall (New York), Royal Albert Hall (London), and Cité de la Musique (Paris), with guest principal roles in Bolivia's Orquesta Filarmónica and Austria's Classical Music Festival Orchestra.

Dr. Little holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from James Madison University, Master of Music from Colorado State University, and Bachelor of Arts from Capital University. She is an alumna of Sigma Alpha Iota, Pi Kappa Lambda, and Phi Alpha Theta honor societies.

Her pedagogical approach centers on developing foundational flute skills in tone production, technique, and etudes to prepare students for academic programs, performances, and professional careers. She actively contributes to flute education through presentations at the National Flute Association Convention and Mid-South Flute Festival, emphasizing repertoire spanning all musical eras.

Dr. Little's accolades include multiple First Prizes in the Grand Prize Virtuoso competitions (Vienna 2018, Paris 2019, London 2019) and the Golden Classic Music Awards (2018), alongside her 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award and Hall of Fame induction.

As Treasurer of the Mid-South Flute Society and former Secretary of the Flute Society of Washington (2018-2020), she mentors students in technical proficiency while maintaining an active performance schedule. Her professional development includes masterclasses with William Bennett and Paula Robison, and studies with Rhonda Larson and Paul Edmund Davies.
