Brian Shoup

Brian Shoup is an Adjunct Instructor of Accounting and Business Law at the Quinlan School of Business, Loyola University Chicago. He retired from Abbott Laboratories in 2019 after 25 years, where he held executive roles including leading a $25 billion acquisition integration and managing global finance operations. He previously worked as an auditor at PwC and held international finance leadership roles in Europe. Shoup holds an MS in Accountancy and a BBA from Loyola University Chicago.

Research & Professional Interests: Shoup's expertise spans corporate finance, international accounting, mergers and acquisitions, and healthcare finance. His professional experience includes large-scale global financial management and post-merger integration. He integrates real-world industry insights into teaching courses such as International Accounting and Healthcare Finance.

Community & Leadership: Board member of LadderUp, a Chicago nonprofit aiding economic mobility, and a certified public accountant. He also holds a private pilot license.

Teaching & Advising: Teaches courses including ACCT 201, ACCT 328, ACCT 425, FINC 455E, QUIN 202, and HCMT 501. Focuses on career preparation and practical business education.
