Dr. Brian McGarry is an Assistant Professor of Public International Law at the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies, Leiden University. His research focuses on the design, practice, and conceptual coherence of international courts and tribunals, with expertise in international dispute settlement, economic law, environmental law, institutional law, and the law of the sea.

- Visiting Professor, Sciences Po Law School (Paris)
- Visiting Scholar, Lauterpacht Centre for International Law (Cambridge)
Research Themes: Judicial inherent powers, sociolegal approaches, interdisciplinary perspectives, and international legal institutions. His work has been supported by the Fulbright Scholar Program, Swiss National Science Foundation, and Praesidium Libertatis I Foundation. He serves as a peer-reviewer for several journals.
