Brian Fowler, Ph.D. is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Movement Sciences at the University of Idaho, affiliated with the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences. His academic background includes a Ph.D. in Sport and Exercise Sciences (2021) from the University of Northern Colorado, an M.A. in Sport & Athletic Administration (2017) from Gonzaga University, and a B.S. in Business Administration (2010) from Chico State University.
Dr. Fowler’s research focuses on sports administration, NCAA policies, athletic performance, and organizational dynamics within sports. His work examines topics such as athletic reclassification impacts, coaching salary disparities, ice hockey officiating retention, and student-athlete gambling behaviors. He has published extensively in journals like Managing Sport and Leisure and Journal of Issues in Intercollegiate Athletics.
He teaches courses including RSTM 280 (Practicum in Recreation), RSTM 425 (Programming and Marketing), and internship supervision (RSTM 498/598). His industry experience spans professional and collegiate athletics, financial sectors, and medical education administration.
