Brian C. Ward

Brian C. Ward, MD, PhD, FACS is an Assistant Professor and Residency Program Director in the Department of Surgery at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. A general surgeon, he treats hernias and diseases of the breast, stomach, colon, rectal, small bowel, gallbladder, skin, and soft tissue masses.

• Education: Undergraduate at Purdue University, MD from Indiana University School of Medicine, PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Purdue University.

Research Focus: Dr. Ward’s work centers on developing anti-inflammatory/anti-fibrosis molecules to prevent surgical adhesions, with peer-reviewed publications in the Journal of Surgical Research and BioMolecular Concepts. His PhD research led to three patents at Purdue University.

Scientific Recognition: Includes being named a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and co-inventor on patents for innovative surgical adhesion prevention.
