Brian Bauer is a Professor of Practice in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Cornell University's College of Engineering. A seasoned international energy industry executive, he brings extensive expertise in Oil, Natural Gas, Chemicals, and renewables across the United States, Asia, and Europe.
His educational background includes:
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University
- M.B.A. in Finance and Operations from the University of Chicago
Professor Bauer's professional focus spans Climate & Energy, Food & Agriculture, Sustainability, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Leadership, and Emergency Response. He actively shapes Cornell's entrepreneurship ecosystem by designing programs for climate and food & agriculture startups while mentoring student ventures.
Regarding advising and grants, he mentors climate-focused startups and received the Louis H. Zalaznick Teaching Assistantship grant from Entrepreneurship at Cornell to support his I-Corps training course.
He serves on the Boards of the Paleontological Research Institute and the Sciencenter, driving initiatives in climate science education and public outreach.
