Brett Christenson is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Marketing at Pennsylvania State University's Smeal College of Business. As Coordinator for Smeal Sports Business Programs, he teaches sports marketing strategy and consumer behavior while advising student organizations focused on sports business.
Education: He holds a Ph.D. in Consumer Behavior from the University of Alabama (2020), an MBA from University of Texas at Dallas (2010), and a BBA from Baylor University (2006).
Research Interests: His work examines sensory marketing, particularly auditory effects on consumer perceptions, psychological responses to voice interfaces, and emotion-driven behaviors. Current projects investigate voice assistant gender framing, speech rate effects, and name-image-likeness (NIL) policies in sports.
Awards: Recipient of the Dr. Sharon Beatty Best PhD Student Paper Research Award (2019) and multiple summer research grants.
Professional Experience: Combines academic work with industry background in Major League Soccer (FC Dallas, AEG) and digital marketing analytics at ReachLocal.
