Brenda Harris is a Senior Lecturer in the Nurse Education Team at Edge Hill University since 2005. Her roles include Module Lead, Programme Lead for the MSc Pre-registration Nursing programme, Clinical Skills Manager, and currently serves as Return to Practice Programme lead across all nursing fields. She holds NMC Teacher status and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Education: MA in Management and Leadership (University of Leeds, 2005) and Post-Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching and Learning Support (Lancaster University, 2006).
Research/teaching focuses on paediatric critical care, children with complex health needs, leadership development, and clinical skills education. She pioneered simulated learning programs like the ‘Better at Home’ suite with Well Child to support parents of hospitalized children. Currently oversees the Paediatric High Dependency Care module in collaboration with Alder Hey Children’s NHS Trust.
Serves as External Examiner for University of Southampton’s Children’s Nursing programmes and participates in the Regional Return to Practice Steering Group.
