Clemson Universityمعرفی
Dr. Brandon Ross is the Cottingham Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at Clemson University's Glenn Department of Civil Engineering. His research focuses on building adaptability, experimental evaluation of reinforced/concrete structures, and low-cost housing solutions for developing regions. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida, preceded by M.S. and B.S. degrees from the University of Wyoming.
Education Background:
- B.S., Architectural Engineering, University of Wyoming (2001)
- M.S., Civil Engineering, University of Wyoming (2002)
- Ph.D., Civil Engineering, University of Florida (2012)
Research Interests:
- Designing adaptable building systems for future functional changes
- Experimental analysis of prestressed concrete structural elements
- Developing cost-effective housing solutions in developing communities
- Biomimetic design inspired by natural structures like coral reefs
Recent Work Trends: His publications emphasize bridge rehabilitation techniques, AI applications in engineering exams, and modular construction systems. Over 2023-2025, he's explored UHPC girders, FRP-reinforced timber piles, and fragility analysis of interlocking shear walls.
Professional Activities:
- Registered Professional Engineer (Idaho)
- Member of American Concrete Institute (ACI) and Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI)
Lab/Project Engagement: Directs the Learning Buildings Framework initiative, quantifying structural adaptability through interdisciplinary research.
