Branden Jacobs-Jenkins is a Professor in the Practice of Theater and Performance Studies at Yale University. An acclaimed playwright, his works include Pulitzer Prize-finalist plays Everybody and Gloria, OBIE Award-winning productions Appropriate and An Octoroon, and premieres at Yale Rep, Signature Theatre, and The Public Theater.
His research and creative practice focus on:
- Theater and performance theory
- Contemporary playwriting techniques
- Dramatic literature
- Cultural narratives in American drama
He has received prestigious honors including:
- MacArthur Fellowship (genius grant)
- Windham-Campbell Prize for Drama
- Two Pulitzer Prize finalist distinctions
