- Artist Diploma in Playwriting from Juilliard
Koogler writes symphonic, surprising, and darkly comedic plays that explore how ordinary people's lives are shaped by larger political, economic, and environmental forces. His work often examines human relationships within contemporary American settings, from fulfillment centers to restaurants to small island communities. He has a distinctive voice that blends realism with surreal elements, creating theatrical experiences that are both deeply human and formally innovative.
His recent plays including Deep Blue Sound (2025), Staff Meal (2024), and Fulfillment Center (2017) demonstrate a consistent thematic interest in the intersection of individual lives with systemic forces. These works often feature characters navigating complex social structures while searching for meaningful human connection in an increasingly fragmented world.
