Brad Lucas is a Lecturer in Brass and Coordinator of Brass at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney. He also serves as a Visiting Professor of Brass at Shenyang Conservatory since 2023.
- Performance: Sydney Symphony Orchestra, NSW Police Band, Royal Australian Navy Band
- Ensembles: Co-founder of Sydney Ophicleide Quartet (SOQ)
- Conducting: Musical Director of Kuringai Youth Orchestra; guest conductor for Sydney North Sydney Symphony and Woollahra Philharmonic Orchestras
- Education: Bachelor of Music Performance in Euphonium from Sydney Conservatorium
His research interests focus on Brass Performance, Conducting, and Music Education. He actively engages in workshops, community orchestras, and professional development through the Australian Band and Orchestra Directors Association (ABODA), where he serves as Vice-President.
Brad collaborates with the NSW Department of Education's 'Arts Unit,' conducting the NSW Public Schools Symphonic Wind Ensemble and leading orchestras at State Music Camps. His leadership roles include organizing ABODA's Conducting Summer School and delivering training sessions on ensemble direction.
