Božo Paradžik

Božo Paradžik is Professor of Double Bass at Musikhochschule Freiburg and Hochschule Luzern-Musik. He studied at the Academy of Music in Prague under Jiří Hudec after initial training in Sarajevo. His professional career includes principal positions with the Residentie Orchestra (The Hague), Radio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart, and collaborations with Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra under conductors including Claudio Abbado.

His research interests focus on double bass performance techniques and pedagogical methods. Paradžik records extensively using modern surround sound technology and has innovatively adapted classical repertoire for double bass, including performances of Schubert's String Quintet and Haydn's Cello Concerto.

Teaching since 2000, he has held positions at Konservatorium Jan Sweenlinck (Amsterdam), Musikhochschule Detmold, and currently at Musikhochschule Freiburg and Hochschule Luzern-Musik. He regularly gives masterclasses at conservatories across Europe including Amsterdam, London, and Paris.
