Boyce Jeffries Jr., DMA serves as Lecturer of Music at Sam Houston State University's School of Music, where he has been a faculty member since fall 2022. His primary affiliation is with the Division of Percussion within the School of Music.
His research interests focus on percussion performance, music education, and the impact of digital media on musical interpretation. Specializing in both Western and non-Western percussion traditions, Jeffries has developed expertise in tabla performance through his work with the Toronto Tabla Ensemble, while also advancing vibraphone repertoire through his leadership of The Vibraphone Project.
Though specific publications aren't detailed in the available information, Jeffries has authored articles for Percussive Notes and is scheduled to contribute to the Percussion Pedagogy Handbook (Oxford University Press) in fall 2026.
