Boris Bastian

Boris Bastian is a Professor at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), affiliated with the Departments of Dermatology and Pathology and the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. His work bridges clinical dermatopathology and molecular cancer genetics, focusing on melanoma subtypes and genomic tumor analysis.

His research explores molecular pathogenesis of melanoma, genetic evolution of skin cancers, and diagnostic genomic tools. He proposed a two-dimensional taxonomy of melanocytic neoplasia adopted by the WHO.
