Bogdan Gregor serves as a Professor in the Department of Marketing within the Faculty of Management at the University of Lodz. With an academic career spanning over 50 years since 1968, he has held numerous leadership positions including Dean of the Faculty of Management (1994-2002; 2005-2008) and Vice-Rector for Economic Affairs (2008-2016). He has been a full professor since 2004 and previously served as Head of the Department of Marketing from 1992 to 2020.
Professor Gregor's research interests focus on marketing, particularly examining changes in organizational environments and their marketing implications, territorial marketing for building municipal/urban/ regional image and competitiveness, application of new technologies in marketing (E-Marketing), e-commerce, and market research methodologies. His work emphasizes how information acquisition and utility impact organizational management.
With over 350 scientific publications including 18 books published both domestically and internationally, Professor Gregor has established himself as a significant contributor to marketing scholarship. His research output demonstrates consistent productivity across multiple marketing sub-disciplines with particular emphasis on evolving marketing concepts in response to technological and environmental changes.
His scientific recognition includes:
- Two Ministerial Awards
- Award from the Scientific Secretary of the Polish Academy of Sciences
- Two Awards from the Rector of the Poznań University of Economics
- Award from the Mayor of Łódź
- 19 Awards from the Rector of the University of Lodz
Professor Gregor has substantial mentoring experience, having supervised 20 completed PhD dissertations while currently guiding four additional doctoral candidates. He regularly reviews doctoral and habilitation theses as well as professorship applications. His teaching responsibilities include Marketing Research for undergraduate day and evening programs (Marketing program) as well as bachelor's and master's seminars. He also conducts commissioned research for socio-economic entities, including expert opinions.
His academic leadership extends to heading the Department of Marketing for 28 years (1992-2020) and serving in various administrative capacities that shaped the development of management education at the University of Lodz.
