Bob Matthews is an artist and exhibition organizer affiliated with the Royal College of Art (RCA), School of Arts & Humanities. His research explores landscapes cultivated by communal groups and the intersection of art with migration and material science. Educated at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art & Design, Kent Institute of Art & Design, and RCA, he has held roles including Senior Tutor at the University for the Creative Arts and British Council Artist in Residence in Singapore (2011/12). His work spans print technologies, UV light-responsive materials, and socio-political themes. Notable solo exhibitions include Studio Tan (2017) and Utopias (2012). He has curated major projects like A Sort of Night to the Mind (2011) and received grants from the British Council and Singapore International Foundation.
Research interests focus on communal environments, utopian models, and migrant settlement landscapes. His practice combines traditional art forms with interdisciplinary interventions. Current advisees include Rana Al-Ogayyel and Flora Bowden. Collaborations include projects with international galleries and institutions, emphasizing global art exchange and socio-political critique.
